Delegate Kannan Srinivasan Wins Democratic Primary for SD-32 Special Election

Ashburn, VA – On Saturday evening, the Loudoun County Democratic Committee declared Delegate Kannan Srinivasan the winner in the 32nd District Virginia State Senate Call to Caucus.

Delegate Kannan Srinivasan will face Republican Tumay Harding, also nominated on November 16, in a special election set for January 7, 2025. The outcome of this election could determine control of the Virginia State Senate going into the 2025 Legislative Session.

Delegate Kannan Srinivasan, a 25 year Loudoun resident and the first Indian American immigrant to serve in the House of Delegates, represents House District 26. As Delegate, Kannan championed women’s reproductive rights, voting rights, healthcare, and gun violence prevention.
